Proxy Setup — Safari (Mac)

Safari uses the Mac's system-wide proxy setting, so these steps set the proxy for everything on the Mac.

Your proxy details

  • Proxy server address: proxy.mysetup.co.uk

  • Port: 80

  • Username & password: the same login you use at www.libertyshield.com

Note: Our proxy is UK-based, so websites will see you in the United Kingdom. The proxy does not work for other countries — for those, use the VPN instead.

Set up the proxy

  1. Click the Apple menu () and choose System Settings.

  2. Click Network in the sidebar, select your connection (Wi-Fi or Ethernet), then click Details….

  3. Choose Proxies in the left list.

  4. Turn on Web proxy (HTTP) — enter server proxy.mysetup.co.uk and port 80, then turn on “Proxy server requires password” and enter your Liberty Shield username and password.

  5. Turn on Secure web proxy (HTTPS) with the same details.

  6. Click OK.

Check it's working

Visit showmemyip.com — it should show a UK location. The first page you open will ask for your username and password — enter your Liberty Shield login.

Turning the proxy off

Go back to the Proxies pane and switch both proxies off, then click OK.
