Occasionally a device (most often an older streaming box) won't pick up an IP address from the VPN Router automatically. Giving the device manual (static) network settings fixes it.
-
On the device's network settings, switch from Automatic/DHCP to Manual/Static.
-
IP address: use the VPN Router's range with a high last number, e.g. 192.168.88.240 (if another device already uses it, pick another 200–250 number).
-
Subnet mask: 255.255.255.0.
-
Gateway: 192.168.88.1 (the VPN Router).
-
DNS: 192.168.88.1 (or leave automatic if offered).
-
Save and reboot the device.
Note: These addresses assume the router's standard configuration. If they don't match your network, contact support and we'll confirm your router's range.
